The International Workshop on Dual Nature of f-electrons (IWDN2018) will be held at the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research, Polish Academy of Sciences in Wrocław, Poland between 9 and 13 July 2018. The meeting will be preceded by the PCFES in Prague, Czech Republic (http://kfkl.cz/pcfes) and followed by the ICM in San Francisco, USA (http://icm2018sf.org).
The Workshop is traditionally aimed to provide an avenue to discuss discoveries and progress on the nature of f-electrons in multitude of systems. Topics that will be covered in this meeting include, but are not limited to: (i) experimental characterization of the physical properties of lanthanoid- and actinoid-based strongly correlated electron systems, (ii) physical principles of the unusual phenomena observed in such materials, with special emphasis put on the dual nature of 5f-electrons in compounds bearing light actinides.
